[show_avatar email=kthomas@seattleskinandlaser.com align=left]As I’m sure many of you are aware, we’re watching Washington closely and have deep concerns about the pending 26.5% Medicare Sustainable Growth Rate (SGR) cuts. The SGR is set to occur unless congress acts before January 1, 2013. For most medical practices, including ours, a cut in reimbursements of that magnitude would impact our staffing levels and our ability to deliver the quality care our patients deserve.
Dermatology Times recently published an article on the impacts of declining reimbursements in our specialty. Dr. Lawlor contributed to this discussion and voiced his concerns about the uncertainty we continually face. The SGR cut has been in place for years and each December we are left to wonder if congress will act in time.
