Beaute Pacifique

The title says it all. Goodbye 2017, hello 2018. As we roll into the new year, now is a great time to evaluate your skincare regimen and possibly make some adjustments. Might I suggest a topical Vitamin A? Vitamin A comes in different strengths and forms, and has many benefits. It helps to unclog pores and prevents breakouts, so if you struggle with some congestion on your skin, this ingredient can help with that. It also is wonderful for anti-aging. Yes, you read that right. Anti-aging. It does this by a process called “cellular turnover,” which is  when new cells travel up to the surface of the skin and the dead cells can slough off.

How do I get this product and how do I use it, you may ask? In the early stages, Vitamin A can cause dryness and redness, so it’s best to start with a few nights a week and gradually increase to every night as tolerated. It can also make you more sun sensitive, which is why you should use at night. This is another reason why I chose to address this topic now in the colder months, so hopefully you can work this into your skincare regimen before the summer months come.

To use this product, start with a clean face and neck. Rub a small amount of the Vitamin A product all over your face and neck. Then, follow that with a gentle moisturizer. The key with this product is using it consistently. Some things in life are only for a season, but not this one! Using it moderately, but consistently and I promise you, your skin will thank you!  As stated before, there are many different strengths and forms of Vitamin A. Some are over the counter that you can buy from a pharmacy, while others are prescription only. Beaute Pacifique Super 3 is a vitamin A creme that is over the counter and available for purchase at our Edmonds and University Village location. It’s best to consult with your dermatology provider and see which Vitamin A is ideal for your skin type.

Cheers to a New Year!
