Dr. Lawlor is a Fellow of the American Academy of Dermatology and a Board Certified dermatologist. He completed his medical training at the University of Missouri-Kansas City and his internship and residency at The Cleveland Clinic. In 2000 he founded Seattle Skin and Laser and has expanded to 4 locations across Seattle and Edmonds. Dr. Lawlor is frequently recognized as one of Seattle’s “Top Doctors” by Seattle Magazine. He continues to enjoy all aspects of dermatology but has a special interest and expertise in the treatment of skin cancer, and laser medicine and surgery.
Dr. Nicolazzi is a Fellow of the American Academy of Dermatology and a Board Certified dermatologist. She graduated from the University of Wisconsin-Madison medical school and completed her residency at the University of Iowa. She has been in practice since 1990 and her primary interest is general medical dermatology. She believes in offering specialized care to each of her patients. Dr. Nicolazzi resides in Edmonds with her husband and two children and her clinics are located in our Edmonds location only.
Dr. Spoonemore is a Fellow of the American Academy of Dermatology and is a clinical instructor at the University of Washington School of Medicine. She completed medical school at the University of Washington and her residency at the University of Oklahoma. Her medical interests include skin cancer, psoriasis, and disorders of pigmentation. She understands how intimately our skin is tied to self-image and enjoys helping patients optimize skin health via disease treatment and prevention. Dr. Spoonemore is also regularly named as a “Top Doctor” by her peers in Seattle Metropolitan Magazine. She is a diehard WSU Cougar from her days as an undergraduate and runs marathons to keep up with her active young son and rescue mutt.
Dr. Gustafson is a Fellow of the America Board of Dermatology and a Board Certified dermatologist. She completed her medical degree at the University of Nevada – Reno and then went on to complete an internship in general surgery at the University of Mississippi Medical Center, as well as a research fellowship at Wake Forest University. She then completed her dermatology residency at Emory University in Atlanta, Georgia. Dr. Gustafson moved to Seattle in 2017 and joined the team at Seattle Skin and Laser. Prior to her move she worked in a private dermatology practice in Indiana where she also completed a fellowship in Micrographic Surgery and Dermatologic Oncology. Dr. Gustafson enjoys all aspects of dermatology including medical, surgical, and cosmetic dermatology. She is excited to call the beautiful Pacific Northwest home and in her spare time enjoys running, hiking, cycling, yoga, spending time with family, friends, and her two dogs Mindi and Bella.
Dr. Yoo is a Fellow of the American Board of Dermatology and a Board Certified dermatologist. She grew up in Chicago and received her bachelor of arts in Biology at Williams College, and received her medical degree from Washington University in St. Louis. She moved out west to the University of Washington to complete her internal medicine internship, dermatology residency, and research fellowships in immunology and dermatology. After her training, she joined the UW faculty as an NIH-funded physician scientist for four years, studying mechanisms of skin inflammation with a clinical interest in atopic dermatitis. She sees patients of all ages and treats all aspects of medical dermatology. In her spare time, Dr. Yoo enjoys staying very active, whether running, strength training, rock-climbing, or keeping up with her young son.
Scott Taylor is excited to join Seattle Skin and Laser as their newest Physician Assistant. Scott earned his Masters of Science in Physician Assistant Studies from LeMoyne College in Syracuse, NY in 2009 and has been working in Dermatology since 2011 with a special focus in surgical and general dermatology. He is particularly passionate about patient counseling in a wide variety of dermatological conditions from eczema, acne, and psoriasis to skin cancer identification and prevention. “Once a patient better understands their skin condition, they are provided the tools needed to approach their treatment intuitively.” Scott is an active member of the American Academy of Physician Assistants and Society of Dermatology Physician Assistants and is an SDPA Diplomate Fellowship Enrollee. In his spare time, Scott enjoys cooking, traveling the world with his wife and enjoying the great outdoors of Washington state.
Preston joined our Northwest Dermatology team in February of 2012. He grew up in Mount Vernon and received his undergraduate degree from Carroll College in Montana. After living in Italy for two years, Preston returned to the Seattle area and completed his medical education at the University of Washington, MEDEX Northwest physician assistant program. His clinical experience includes five years of family practice in Othello, Washington. Preston enjoys finding effective and maintainable solutions for his patients. He is currently a member of Washington Association of Physician Assistants and the American Association of Physician Assistants. He is currently seeing patients at our Edmonds location.
Jessica joined our Northwest Dermatology team after moving to the Edmonds area in 2012. After receiving her BS degree in Biology from the University of Connecticut, she worked at Yale Medical School as a research assistant. Her love of skiing brought her to Vail, CO where she studied to be an EMT and treat injured skiers. In 2000, she graduated from the University of Washington MEDEX PA program. She is NCCPA and DEA board-certified and is a member of the Society of Dermatology PA’s. She provides comprehensive skin care with special attention to the early detection of skin cancers. Her recent passions include exploring Edmonds, trying new restaurants, walks by the water and travelling outside the US.
Joanie has been in the nursing profession for over 30 years. She has a wealth of experience across specialties including: medical and surgical nursing, emergency medicine, OBGYN and oral surgery. For the past decade Joanie has focused on dermatology; gaining significant expertise under the guidance of Dr. Lawlor. Joanie has weekly laser clinics focused on tattoo removal, laser hair reduction, and photo facials. She was also the first provider in the Pacific Northwest to treat patients using MiraDry for excessive underarm sweating.
Katy has been practicing aesthetics since 1990. Working in all aspects of the industry, the majority of her career has been spent specializing in medical aesthetics. She has worked with plastic surgeons and dermatologists in both pre and post surgery care. Katy is able to compliment all skin types. She is especially adept at treating clients with sensitive skin and currently on medications to prescribe the proper regimen to achieve the desired goals. Being certified in laser, as well, has given her the ability to combine preventative and corrective programs for optimal results. She is currently seeing patients at our Northwest Skincare Clinic.
Julie has been a clinical aesthetician since 1985 and has worked professionally for cosmetic surgeons, skin care clinics, salons and spas in both Seattle and San Diego. Julie is committed to staying current with the latest innovations in the industry to provide the best treatment and skin care for all of her clients. After completing her cosmetology certification and an AA in Marketing at Shoreline Community College, Julie attended the Swiss Skin Care Training Center for advanced training in aesthetics. She also earned the International Therapeutic Examination Council Certification (ITEC) and received training in cosmetic chemistry in an affiliated program with UCLA.
Elsa joined our Northwest Dermatology team in April, 2005. She completed her aesthetic training at Greenwood Academy of Skin in 2004. Elsa is certified and trained in laser therapy, various chemical peels and product lines. She specializes in adolescent and adult acne as well as anti-aging, skin resurfacing, facial rejuvenation and laser hair reduction. Prior to joining the aesthetic world Elsa worked as a Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant in the health care industry for 12 years. The combination of both careers has allowed her to provide a holistic approach to healthy skin as well as assisting clients in accomplishing their goals. Elsa is passionate about helping clients achieve vibrant, healthy skin and empowering people with the knowledge and the tools they need.
Emily is a Licensed Master Esthetician who graduated from the Euro Institute of Skin Care in 2012. She is also a trained Medical Scribe who assists in Dr. Spoonemore’s medical and cosmetic clinics at Seattle Skin and Laser. Emily’s interest in the medical field and passion for serving others led her into the aesthetic world. Emily loves to help others de-stress with relaxing facials and also enjoys performing results-oriented treatments, such as laser hair removal. When she is not working, Emily likes to wind down with a foot soak and a good book.
