Dr. Lawlor is a Fellow of the American Academy of Dermatology and a Board Certified dermatologist. He completed his medical training at the University of Missouri-Kansas City and his internship and residency at The Cleveland Clinic. In 2000 he founded Seattle Skin and Laser and has expanded to 4 locations across Seattle and Edmonds. Dr. Lawlor is frequently recognized as one of Seattle’s “Top Doctors” by Seattle Magazine. He continues to enjoy all aspects of dermatology but has a special interest and expertise in the treatment of skin cancer, and laser medicine and surgery.
Dr. Nicolazzi is a Fellow of the American Academy of Dermatology and a Board Certified dermatologist. She graduated from the University of Wisconsin-Madison medical school and completed her residency at the University of Iowa. She has been in practice since 1990 and her primary interest is general medical dermatology. She believes in offering specialized care to each of her patients. Dr. Nicolazzi resides in Edmonds with her husband and two children and her clinics are located in our Edmonds location only.
Dr. Spoonemore is a Fellow of the American Academy of Dermatology and is a clinical instructor at the University of Washington School of Medicine. She completed medical school at the University of Washington and her residency at the University of Oklahoma. Her medical interests include skin cancer, psoriasis, and disorders of pigmentation. She understands how intimately our skin is tied to self-image and enjoys helping patients optimize skin health via disease treatment and prevention. Dr. Spoonemore is also regularly named as a “Top Doctor” by her peers in Seattle Metropolitan Magazine. She is a diehard WSU Cougar from her days as an undergraduate and runs marathons to keep up with her active young son and rescue mutt.
Dr. Gustafson is a Fellow of the America Board of Dermatology and a Board Certified dermatologist. She completed her medical degree at the University of Nevada – Reno and then went on to complete an internship in general surgery at the University of Mississippi Medical Center, as well as a research fellowship at Wake Forest University. She then completed her dermatology residency at Emory University in Atlanta, Georgia. Dr. Gustafson moved to Seattle in 2017 and joined the team at Seattle Skin and Laser. Prior to her move she worked in a private dermatology practice in Indiana where she also completed a fellowship in Micrographic Surgery and Dermatologic Oncology. Dr. Gustafson enjoys all aspects of dermatology including medical, surgical, and cosmetic dermatology. She is excited to call the beautiful Pacific Northwest home and in her spare time enjoys running, hiking, cycling, yoga, spending time with family, friends, and her two dogs Mindi and Bella.
Dr. Yoo is a Fellow of the American Board of Dermatology and a Board Certified dermatologist. She grew up in Chicago and received her bachelor of arts in Biology at Williams College, and received her medical degree from Washington University in St. Louis. She moved out west to the University of Washington to complete her internal medicine internship, dermatology residency, and research fellowships in immunology and dermatology. After her training, she joined the UW faculty as an NIH-funded physician scientist for four years, studying mechanisms of skin inflammation with a clinical interest in atopic dermatitis. She sees patients of all ages and treats all aspects of medical dermatology. In her spare time, Dr. Yoo enjoys staying very active, whether running, strength training, rock-climbing, or keeping up with her young son.
Dr. Nguyen is a Fellow of the American Academy of Dermatology and a Board Certified, Fellowship-trained Pediatric Dermatologist. She was born and raised in Seattle and graduated with her Bachelor of Science degree from the University of Washington.
Dr. Nguyen earned her medical degree from Touro College in New York, New York. She completed a dermatology residency at Western University in Southern California and a pediatric dermatology fellowship at Seattle Children’s Hospital.
While she sees patients of all ages, her special interests are in pediatric dermatology, laser surgery and skin of color; topics in which she has presented at national meetings and published in both peer-reviewed journals and anticipated in textbooks.
Outside of work, she enjoys eating around Seattle and exploring different neighborhoods on her bicycle.
Preston joined our Northwest Dermatology team in February of 2012. He grew up in Mount Vernon and received his undergraduate degree from Carroll College in Montana. After living in Italy for two years, Preston returned to the Seattle area and completed his medical education at the University of Washington, MEDEX Northwest physician assistant program. His clinical experience includes five years of family practice in Othello, Washington. Preston enjoys finding effective and maintainable solutions for his patients. He is currently a member of Washington Association of Physician Assistants and the American Association of Physician Assistants. He is currently seeing patients at our Edmonds location.

Alexandria received her aesthetics training from the Euro Institute of Skin Care in 2020 and then went on to obtain her masters license from Washington Laser Institute in 2021. She is certified by the National Coalition of Estheticians (NCEA) where she is trained on national standards. She is dedicated to understanding each person’s individual needs to help them achieve healthy glowing skin with customized treatments as well as products needed to optimize those results at home. Alexandria is passionate about educating her patients on skin anatomy and physiologyand giving them the tools to take care of their skin in order to feel their most confident self. She performs medical grade facials, chemical peels, dermaplaning and microneedling. She is also trained in all laser modalities in which she performs in conjunction to optimize treatment plans. Jessica joined our Northwest Dermatology team after moving to the Edmonds area in 2012. After receiving her BS degree in Biology from the University of Connecticut, she worked at Yale Medical School as a research assistant. Her love of skiing brought her to Vail, CO where she studied to be an EMT and treat injured skiers. In 2000, she graduated from the University of Washington MEDEX PA program. She is NCCPA and DEA board-certified and is a member of the Society of Dermatology PA’s. She provides comprehensive skin care with special attention to the early detection of skin cancers. Her recent passions include exploring Edmonds, trying new restaurants, walks by the water and travelling outside the US.

Jennifer Hall is a Certified Dermatology Physician Assistant who treats patients of all ages with psoriasis, skin cancers, acne, and other dermatological conditions. Jennifer graduated from Butler University/Clarion Health and spent the first 5 years of her Physician Assistant career in primary and urgent care in Texas. In 2004 she transitioned to dermatology and was trained by a Mohs surgeon to perform excisions and surgical closures, in addition to cosmetic procedures such as Botox, fillers, and laser treatments. She practiced dermatology in San Diego, California for 3 years, Ormond Beach, Florida for 4 years, and most recently ran a busy dermatology clinic near Nashville, Tennessee for 5 1/2 years. She relocated to Mercer Island and joined Island Dermatology in October 2016. She is an active member of the National Academy of Physician Assistants and the Society of Dermatology Physician Assistants. In 2009 Jennifer earned an MBA from the University of Florida, graduating with honors, Beta Gama Sigma. In her spare time she loves to run, travel, and spend time with her daughter, husband, and golden retriever.
Katy has been practicing aesthetics since 1990. Working in all aspects of the industry, the majority of her career has been spent specializing in medical aesthetics. She has worked with plastic surgeons and dermatologists in both pre and post surgery care. Katy is able to compliment all skin types. She is especially adept at treating clients with sensitive skin and currently on medications to prescribe the proper regimen to achieve the desired goals. Being certified in laser, as well, has given her the ability to combine preventative and corrective programs for optimal results. Katy specializes in tattoo removal, body sculpting, and microneedling.
Julie has been a clinical aesthetician since 1985 and has worked professionally for cosmetic surgeons, skin care clinics, salons and spas in both Seattle and San Diego. Julie is committed to staying current with the latest innovations in the industry to provide the best treatment and skin care for all of her clients. After completing her cosmetology certification and an AA in Marketing at Shoreline Community College, Julie attended the Swiss Skin Care Training Center for advanced training in aesthetics. She also earned the International Therapeutic Examination Council Certification (ITEC) and received training in cosmetic chemistry in an affiliated program with UCLA. As part of the Seattle Skin and Laser team, Julie focuses on microneedling, body sculpting, and tattoo removal.
Elsa joined our Northwest Dermatology team in April, 2005. She completed her aesthetic training at Greenwood Academy of Skin in 2004. Elsa is certified and trained in laser therapy, various chemical peels and product lines. She specializes in adolescent and adult acne as well as anti-aging, skin resurfacing, facial rejuvenation and laser hair reduction. Prior to joining the aesthetic world Elsa worked as a Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant in the health care industry for 12 years. The combination of both careers has allowed her to provide a holistic approach to healthy skin as well as assisting clients in accomplishing their goals. Elsa is passionate about helping clients achieve vibrant, healthy skin and empowering people with the knowledge and the tools they need. She is concentrating on body sculpting, tattoo removal, and microneedling.
Sheila has been in the Cosmetic industry for over 15 years working as an Aesthetician and professional Make-up artist. She started her career on the East Coast working for 2 Physicians at Baystate Center for Plastic Surgery in the Boston Area. She moved to Seattle in 1995 and continued her work at a Medical Spa in Seattle where she was the lead Aesthetician providing many services for facial rejuvenation. Joining Island Dermatology in 2011, she is dedicated to patient care and has an extensive knowledge about a wide variety treatments and can help direct you toward the best way to treat and meet your skin care needs. She specializes in body contouring with Coolsculpting as well as skin tightening services along with science-based skincare. Being able to treat skin concerns with effective treatments and medical grade skincare is her ultimate passion. Sheila is always ready to learn the newest technology and she enjoys educating and building strong relationships with patients.
