What is Radiesse®?

Radiesse® is a dermal filler used to smooth moderate to severe facial wrinkles and folds. It is comprised of Calcium Hydroxylapatite (CaHA) microspheres suspended in a gel carrier. Once Radiesse® is injected into the treatment areas, it provides immediate results, but continue to work by stimulating collagen production over time. Then, the gel is absorbed, and the body metabolizes the CaHA, leaving behind only your natural collagen.

During treatment, a small needle will be used to inject Radiesse® into the designated treatment areas. A topical anesthetic can be applied to ensure a comfortable treatment session.

Who is a Candidate?

Individuals who are experiencing smile lines, marionette lines, pre-jowl folds and wrinkles at the corners of the mouth or on the chin can often benefit from Radiesse®. Those who are pregnant or breastfeeding or those who have an allergy to lidocaine should not receive Radiesse® injections. The best way to determine candidacy is through a consultation with one of our dermatologists.

Recovery and Results

Following your treatment, you may experience mild bruising, redness, swelling, and itching, though these effects should resolve quickly. There is no downtime required after treatment, so patients can return to their everyday activities as soon as they feel comfortable. Results can last between 9-15 months.
