How Does Microneedling Work?

There are many factors that can affect the appearance of the skin including sun exposure, lifestyle, and the natural aging process. These factors can result in fine lines, wrinkles, scarring, hyperpigmentation, age spots, acne scarring, rosacea, and other blemishes. With Microneedling, you can increase your natural collagen production which is the key to strong, youthful-looking skin.

The Treatment Process

Microneedling involves the use of a pen-like device containing many tiny needles. When applied to the skin, the device creates micro-channels within the skin to stimulate the healing process. The needles do not go deep enough to cause any scarring.  A topical numbing cream is applied beforehand to ensure comfort during the entire treatment.

The Remodeling Phase

You can experience smoother skin right away from your Microneedling treatment, but your best results will be seen in 4-6 weeks. After treatment, your body will naturally start its healing process by increasing blood flow for new cell regeneration. New collagen and elastin will also be produced to fill in the micro-channels. Most patients may experience redness 24-48 hours after treatment. A minimum of 4 treatments is recommended in order to see optimal results. Microneedling can also be combined with other laser treatments such as IPL and Laser Genesis for more corrective results.

How To Prolong Your Results

After treatment, one of our aestheticians will recommend some of our products to optimize and prolong your results. The products you use will depend on your unique concerns and goals.
