seattle miradryIf you find yourself constantly reapplying deodorant, layering clothing, and feeling self-conscious about underarm sweat, it might be time to consider treatment for excessive sweating. MiraDry offers a completely non-invasive solution to immediately reduce underarm sweat. Keep reading to find out how!

What is MiraDry?

MiraDry uses non-invasive microwave energy technology to eliminate sweat glands in the underarms for those with hyperhidrosis, or excessive sweating. There is no anesthesia or incisions and very little downtime involved! The targeted energy safely destroys the sweat gland for good while preserving healthy tissue.

The Procedure

Before treatment, your underarms will be numbed to ensure your comfort. A template will be used to accurately map the target locations for the most effective results. Next, a handpiece will be placed directly on the skin and activated. During this time, you can expect to feel a light suction as the handpiece squeezes the sweat glands closer to the skin. The energy is then delivered, destroying the sweat glands while cooling technology protects your skin. After treatment, patients can return to their normal activities but might experience common side effects such as soreness and swelling for the first week or two.

When Can I See Results?

You can expect results immediately after treatment with a significant reduction in sweating. For optimal results, two spaced out treatment sessions are recommended. The sweat glands cannot come back once they are destroyed, so results are permanent. Along with reduced sweating, patients find more confidence wearing the clothes they want and being in social settings.

  1. I am interested to learning more about this procedure. I suffer from hyperhidrosis which has gotten worse with time. I would like to know if this is a procedure covered by insurance, what the cost is, and how long the procedure takes. I have Premera Blue Cross insurance. Thank you.
