Chemical Peels

Chemical peels are a non-invasive way to improve the skin’s appearance. In this treatment, a solution is applied to the skin, which makes the outer, damaged layers peel off. The skin left after peeling is usually smoother, with more even tone and fewer wrinkles.

Chemical peels can be done on the face, neck, or hands. They can help treat:

  • Fine lines
  • Wrinkles caused by sun damage and aging
  • Acne
  • Freckles and other dark spots
  • Texture and tone irregularities

After a chemical peel, skin is temporarily more red and sensitive to the sun, so wear sunscreen every day.  We offer three variations of SkinMedica peels.  There is something for all skin types ranging from light to moderate intensity.  Each peel has minimal downtime to accomodate all lifestyles.

Chemical Peel Myths

Myth #1- Stronger is better!
Fact- High percentage peels cause a lot of inflammation but dont always deliver. Combinations of acids at lower strengths work together to exfoliate, detoxify, and improve the skin with minimal redness and irritation.

Myth #2- The skin must “peel” for the chemical peel to work.
Fact- Our peels gently slough skin almost disolving away dead skin cells, and causing a reaction in the skin forming collagen and elasion for smooth healthy skin.

Myth #3- Long-term results take weeks
Fact- Our peels coax your skin into a healthier state not assult it. Instead of hiding away for weeks while your pink and irritated skin returns to normal within just a few days bright glowing skin is revealed without the downtime.
